Hudson is a city in St. Croix County, Wisconsin with a population of approximately 12,719. The city was originally called Willow River, but it’s first mayor, Alfred D. Gray petitioned to have the name changed to “Hudson” as the bluffs along the St. Croix River reminded him of the Hudson River in New York. Today it has become a top tourist destination.

Since 1953, the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau has been the advocate of business and the unified voice of its members in communities from the Twin Cities to Eau Claire.

The Hudson Area Public Library is in partnership with the city of Hudson, village of North Hudson, and the townships of Hudson and St. Joseph.

Formed in 1873, the Hudson Fire Department currently has 40 members, all except 1 of whom are volunteers. They respond to 430 calls a year and aim to effectively and efficiently provide a wide range of services to the community, that are designed to save lives, property and stabilize incidents.
